Ambedkar Stadium next hearing posted to July 25

Lucknow, July 19 (UNI) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today deferred the next hearing of Ambedkar Sports Stadium till July 25 and directed the Mayawati government to strictly follow the court guidelines.

The court noted that the stadium should continue its regular sports activities and the government ought to follow court's earlier instructions of not obstructing stadium activities.

A bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and Devi Prasad Singh gave this decision on a petition filed by Om Prakash Yadav and seven others.

The petitioners stated that the state government was demolishing Ambedkar Sports Stadium to construct Kanshiram Memorial in its place.

The stadium produced cricketers like R P Singh and Suresh Raina, who have brought laurels to the nation.

Earlier, the court had stayed the government's order of evicting and demolishing the stadium.
