A novel meet for disabled to find life-partners
Thiruvananthapuram, July 19 (UNI) For hundreds of physically-challenged people, the pre-marriage meeting provided a glimpse of hope and a chance to select their suitable life partners.
The novel meeting, arranged by Prathyasha Foundation, a Kochi-based charitable trust formed by a group of differently- abled people here today, was by all means a good platform for the physically-challenged people to select a life-partner.
As many as 50 people succeeded in getting a life-partner in the meeting and a large number of people would select their partner in the coming days, Mr Simon George of Prathyasha Foundation told UNI.
Claiming that the foundation was the only one institution organsing such a meet in the country and perhaps in the world, he said the foundation would organise such marriages in North India also in the next year.
This was the fourth such meet organised by the foundation, which was working for the welfare of the physically-challenged people.
The earlier meetings held at Kochi were a great success and it had succeeded in giving a ray of hope for many.
Mr George said after a couple of months a mass-marriage for those, who had selected their partners would be held here.
Earlier, the meet was inaugurated by Health Minister P K Sreemathy.
