UP: 41 booked for fake licensed weapons

Gonda, July 19: At least eight people were arrested and 41 booked under non-bailable warrant for keeping fake-licensed weapons at Nawabganj police station here.

About 89 cases came to light after a detailed police inquiry, of which 41 people were issued non-bailable warrant yesterday, police said today.

In a week-long exercise, police arrested eight people in this regard. Three people from Ambedkar Nagar district and a 'mahant' Jagdeesh Das of Ayodhya were sent to jail.

If the accused did not surrender, their property would be confiscated, police added.
