Youth Cong rally in Tirumala Hills

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, July 18 (UNI) For the first time in its history, Tirumala Hills, the abode of Sri Venkateswara, saw a procession taken out by a political party.

As many as 350 Youth Congress workers who reached Tirumala Hills from Alipiri by two and four wheelers, took out a rally from GNC Toll Gate to Balaji Nagar where they burst crackers and held a meeting in connection wtih the election of the Chittoor District Youth Congress President P Venkatesh.

All rallies and processions in Tirumala Hills are banned by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Four years ago, TTD authorities detained some school children when they were taking out a procession around the four mada streets by holidng flags in connection with Independence Day at Tirumala.

On information, TTD Vigilance and security officials rushed to Balaji Nagar.
