Vendor gets seven years jail for selling fake stamp papers

Cooch Behar, July 18(UNI): A local court today handed down a seven year jail to vendor Md Shahjahan Mian for selling fake stamp papers worth Rs 2500 in 1998.

Cooch Behar court's Chief Judicial Magistrate Monojyato Bhattacharjee while pronouncing the vendor guilty for selling five stamp papers each worth Rs 500 to a buyer nine years ago in the court premises sentenced him jail for seven years.

The CID sleuths had arrested him followihg a tip off from an intending buyer.
