Veetee fine foods to delight Bangaloreans with ready-to-eat foods

Bangalore, July 18 (UNI) Veetee Fine Foods, One of the Country's major producer and marketer of quality Basmati rice to over 50 countries, today announced its foray into the ready-to-eat segment with a collection of 13 delectable North Indian dishes.

Announcing this to newsmen here, Company Chief Executive Officer Aayushman Gupta said the slew of range available under 'curry collection,' included curries and rice dishes. Another 17 dishes were under development and would be launched within a month.

Research was on with regard to 12 dishes, he added.

Replying to queries, he said other products in the pipeline included, among others, combo pack for rice and vegetable curry, ready to drink soups, sweets and desserts.

He said with retail boom, change in modern lifestyle and emergence of nuclear families, the Indian food industry was expected to grow exponentially.

Quoting a survey he said the size of the ready-to-eat segment was estimated to be around Rs 200 crores now and the company had plans to corner at least 30 per cent market share in next five years when the size was expected to cross over Rs 500 crores. Further, the growth over (50 per cent in volume terms) that was taking place in the Microwave Oven category would fuel the growth for the segment in India, he hoped.

He said the products had been launched already in Kolkata and the response was very good.

He said the irresistible dishes were untouched by human hands and prepared with utmost care in microwavable pouches at the state-of-the art plant at Sonepat in Haryana. The company had invested three million US Dollars and hoped to sell two million pouches in the first year of operation, he added.
