Vaastu offers 'correctional course' to energise life and career
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Not gelling well with your boss, often getting into a quarrel with your spouse, career stuck and not going places or just not feeling buoyant to start something new? The answer may well be in your 'placement'.
Removing the pesky television from your bedroom, keeping potted plants at home, opening doors and windows at the start of day, 'decongesting' the house at intervals, facing the east/north while working and a vivacious picture of racing horses on the wall could well sharpen the 'positive curve' in one's life and career if not be the ultimate panacea for all problems.
Ancient Indian wisdom and the encore of aeon-old science that defined 'peaceful existence' through 'directional correctness' is now available for the modern man to invigorate, energise and enthuse not just himself but his environment and moorings through 'Vaastu'.
''Vaastu actually is the science which helps in harmonising the five elements that constitute the earth as well an individual and which in turn ushers in peace, happiness and a sense of contentment,'' said Dr Ranjeet Mehta, Head, 'Academy of Astro-Vaastu Research and Training' during a workshop on 'Vaastu Blueprint for Success'.
''Its important in today's life because 90 per cent of the time we all are within some 'space' or the other, whether office, home, restaurant... and the energy surrounding our places affect us a lot.
Hence its important that the spaces are designed to magnetise positive energy and not become a nurturing nook for negative vibes.'' Just like 'Ayurveda', Vaastu too works on the inner constitition of one's being to bring harmony and happiness in life, and often the turbulence in our lives is the result of a missing link between these five elements, he said, adding that ''this ancient scientific wisdom helps correct this imbalance.'' For example, shifting one's chair in the office while working in the correct direction could greatly increase one's output or a change of room for sleeping could enhance inter-personal relations or even a directional change of entrance could bring visible positive changes in the entire family's lives, he said.
''Always avoid a television in the bedroom because the electromagnetic waves emitted affect our psyche, or place a mirror facing the entrance as this repells the energy making its way inside, or keeping dried flowers at home as this draws stale energy.'' However, placing a music system on the west wall of a drawing room attracts very good vibes within the home and a fish acquarium placed either in the north or north-east direction begets positive energy flow, he said.
''Vaastu is the science of energising spaces. But it's not that once the house/office is built, and not correctly, one is doomed.
There are correctional steps also which can, to a large extent, diminish the negative energies that abound a 'non-vaastu conformist dwelling'.'' A University of California, US, research paper said people who are happy, deliver the best -- at work, at the home front and in social life.
Commenting on this, the Vaastu maestro said this science pursues just as much because 'placements' in our lives energise us and our being, thereby enhancing our potency to perform better, in a smarter way and with a delicate efficacy.
On the common dos and don'ts in everyday life, Dr Mehta says never sweep the floor after sunset or keep the broom or mop in the open. ''It should be 'hidden' of sorts.'' Also, modern art paintings or pictures with incomplete shapes, figures or of a wrecked ship etc, should be avoided. Instead, pictures of galloping horses, mountains, waterfalls depicting movement should be hung on walls. ''This denotes power and brings pace to one's career and helps in its growth.'' Fresh flowers and plants, whether in office or home, are highly recommended,'' he added.
''We exist among images and anything incomplete affects our psyche. Complete pictures bring rythm and harmony in our lives and surroundings.'' A right direction, a correct placing of things or a slight change in positioning could alter the way things in life and one's career moves and vaastu offers that dynamic curve to one and all, Dr Mehta added.
