Two school children die, eight injured as truck overturns

Dehradun, July 18 (UNI) Two school children died and eight others were injured when a truck loaded with LPG cylinders overturned at Karnaprayag in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand early morning today.

According to Chamoli Superintendent of Police (SP) office, the accident occurred around 0630 hrs near Sivai village when the truck, heading towards Gopeshwar from Sahibabad overturned into a nulla.

Ten School going children were hanging to the truck when the accident occurred. Manish (17) and Deepak (18) died on the spot as they were crushed under the truck and other eight got minor injuries.

All the injured children had been admitted in Karnaprayag Community Health Centre where one was reported to had ankle fracture.

All the children belonged to Shivai village.
