Trade bandh passes of peacefully in AP District

Eluru, July 18 (UNI) The traders bandh went off peacefully in West Godavari District today protesting against the issuance of GO 517 by Andhra Pradesh Government.

The traders in Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Chintalapudi, Bhimavaram, Palacole, Narsapur, Tanuku, Kovvur closed their business activities in response to a statewide call given by Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries(APCCI).

Traders took out rallies and dharnas in various places demanding the Government to withdraw GO no 517, which is burdening the small traders. Due to the bandh, as many as Rs 100 crore worth transactions came to a standstill in West Godavari district alone.

In Eluru city, the headquarters of the district, the traders closed their shutters till evening. The bandh was complete and peaceful.

The Restaurants and Hotel Owners Association also extended their solidarity by participating in the bandh.
