Three fishermen missing

Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 (UNI) Three fishermen, who ventured out for fishing from Vizhijnam, were reported missing since June 16 last.

According to Marine Enforcement officials, four others, who also went for fishing along with them in three boats, however, returned to the shore safely.

The seven fishermen in three country crafts went to the sea for fishing from Vizhinjam, near here, on June 16 last. As the sea turned rough they lost direction and landed with their crafts on the Kanniyakumari coast, the sources said.

Though the Marine Enforcement and the Coast Guard with the help of a helicopter made searches for the missing fishermen, they could not be traced, the sources added.

They were identified as Marydasan (24), Peter (38) and Nelson(25), all hailing from Vizhinjam.
