Tension prevails in Loherdega after killings

Loherdega, July 18 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the district following the killing of two persons, including a policeman, in a land dispute in Dhanamunji village under Bhandra police station here last night.

Superintendent of Police Subodh Prasad said the incident occurred when villagers attacked the police team which have arrived on the spot, to the control clash between the two groups.

Mr Prasad said a police constable and one person was killed while three were injured in retaliation by the police.

The irate villagers set ablaze three vehicles, including two police vehicles, and a building.

Police also recovered the deceased constable's rifle, which was snatched away by the villagers, the SP added.
