Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) Women members of the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today caused a mild flutter in Andhra Pradesh Assembly by coming to the House wearing a garland of vegetables, to protest against rise in the prices of essential commodities.

The agitated women TDP members, led by P Aruna, came rushing to the House raising slogans against the state Government for not taking adequate steps to bring down the price, including that of vegetables.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, Speaker K R Suresh Reddy announced that he was disallowing the adjournment motion notices by the TDP, CPI, CPI(M) and BJP on the issue.

The opposition members were on their feet for sometime, pleading with the Speaker to set aside regular business and take up the issue.

The Speaker also disallowed the adjournment motion notice by the All India Majlis-E-Itehadul Muslimeen on the alleged assistance provided by the Andhra Pradesh police to their Gujarat counterparts to eliminate Suorabuddin Sheikh in a fake encounter and the Janata Party member K Ramulu on the issue of railway line for Metpalli.
