School girl transforms works of art into 'charity'
Hyderabad, Jul 18 (UNI) For a state reeling under rain-related incidents that spawned wide-spread casualties and property loss, the contribution from a young artist to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) has come as a soothing touch.
Kota Sravani, a budding artist and a class IX student at Sri Siddhartha Buds and Blossoms English Medium School, Vijayawada today met the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and donated a demand draft for Rs 7,440 towards CMRF.
The contribution has an extra flavour as it is the total prize money she earned on various events in drawing and painting competitions since 2002.
''I am impressed by the measures the government has taken for child health care especially the scheme of free heart operations for the poor children. I feel it is my duty to help them'', Sravani said.
Commending the girl's gesture Dr Reddy said, ''your heart is as pure as your art work. You have a very bright future, Good Luck''.
Her parents Mr Kota Chalapathi Prasad and Mrs Kota Sarada Kalyani accompanied her.
