Rupee opens at 40.37/38 per dollar

Mumbai, July 18: Rupee opened at 40.37/38 per dollar when the trade started, at the same level it closed yesterday.

The unit touched a low of 40.41 per dollar during the intra-day and is currently trading at 40.39/40, said a dealer.

Rupee is remaining Asia's major currency for the year. The unit had touched nine year peak of 40.28 per dollar recently.
