Rules relaxed for employment to naxal victim families

Ranchi, July 17 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has relaxed rules pertaining to employment of next of kin to victims killed by Naxals in the state.

The decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Madhu Koda here.

According to the decision, the age bar and minimum education qualification, which came in the way of employment, was relaxed, Cabinet Secretary N N Pandey said adding the employment would be mainly confined to fourth grade jobs.

Earlier, besides age bar a job seeker of the victim families must be a matriculate.

The Cabinet also decided to clear the long outstanding bill of Rs 529 crore due to be paid to State Electricity Board. The amount was till March, 2007.
