Punjab MC polls on Aug 10

Chandigarh, July 18 (UNI) Municipal Corporation elections would be held in Punjab on August 10, Principal Secretary, Local Government D S Bains here today stated.

Elections to the MC's of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar will be the first test of popularity of the SAD-BJP government which came to power in March this year.

The polls in all the four cities will be held on a single day, Mr Bains stated.

The notification in this regard has been issued by the State Election Commission.
