PMC condemns 'police attack' on govt staff assn chief
Puducherry, July 18 (UNI) The Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC) today said the alleged police attack on Mr C H Balamohanan, President of the Confederation of Pondicherry State Government Employees Association and his subsequent hospitalisation was "unfortunate" and "regrettable." In a statement here, PMC Spokesman K Lakshminarayanan, MLA,alleged Mr Balamohanan, an heart patient, was attacked by the police and he along with party trade union president Iyyanarappan had visited him in the ICU of the government general hospital and consoled him.
He urged the administration to take immediate steps to find an amicable settlement to the issue for which he was fighting.
Mr Balamohanan was allegedly attacked by the police while he was leading an agitation of the anganwadi workers here earlier in the day.
