Opposition demands removal of Bihar Assembly Speaker
Patna, Jul 18 (UNI) Demanding removal of Bihar Assembly Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhry for his alleged involvement in the murder of former MP and LJP candidate from Imamganj Assembly constituency Rajesh Kumar, the Opposition members today threatened to move no confidence motion against Mr Choudhry in its next session.
National spokesperson of RJD Shyam Rajak, LJP leader and MLA Maheshwar Hajari, CPI leader and MLA Rajendra Singh and suspended leader of JD(U) Chedi Paswan jointly told newspersons outside the Assembly that Mr Choudhry was involved in the murder ofRajesh Kumar.
They said a person facing such allegation should not remain on Constitutional post and should be immediately removed.
They threatened to move no confidence motion against the Speaker in the next session of the Assembly in case he was not removed from the post.
Meanwhile, during his interaction with the news persons in his Assembly chamber, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar challenged the Opposition to bring the no confidence motion, saying the allegation was totally baseless.
'' We have already verified and crosschecked the allegation at the the time of proposing Mr Choudhry's name for the post of Speaker, '' he said adding such a matter should not be raised in an indignified manner against the person holding the Constitutional post.
