Minister stresses on co-operation for rural development

Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) Union Minister for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today underlined the need for interaction, cooperation and collaboration among the research and training institutions, universities and NGOs for achieving rural development at a faster pace.

Inaugurating the ''Consultation on the areas of Cooperation and Collaboration for Rural Development Policy Formulation and Training'' at the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) here, he said interface between the academicians and the practitioners was vital in the process of rural development.

He invited inputs from the experts attending the consultation regarding developing appropriate professionals in rural development, involvement of expert institutions in policy research and feedback and capacity building of rural development functionaries.
