Lightning claims four lives in Bihar

Kahalgaon, July 18 (UNI) Four people were killed and six others sustained serious injuries when lightning struck them near Bakharpur and Lalbathani Diara under Pirpainti police station in Bhagalpur district late last night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police B N Jha said here today that Gopal Kunwar,Raju Tanti and Chandan Tanti were in their fields at Bakharpur when lightning struck upon them last night and they died on the spot,while two others sustained serious injuries.

In another incident at Lalbathani Diara a person was killed as lightning struck him and four others sustained injuries.

The injured were admitted to the referral hospital at Pirpainti,sources added.
