Illegal arms syndicate busted, man arrested

Mathura, July 18 (UNI) Police here busted an illegal weapons syndicate with the arrest of one person and seizure of 10 firearms.

SSP R K Chaturvedi said yesterday Brijesh was arrested by the special operation group (SOG) sleuths at Churmura turn in Farah area of the district.

Ten arms and cartridges were recovered from his possession.

He confessed that he procured the illegal weapons from Etah and sold them in Agra and other neighbouring districts.

Since May 15, the district police had seized 132 illegal weapons and cartridges and busted 11 illicit weapons unit.
