Heavy inflows into Mettur dam; level stood at 107.19 ft
Tiruchirapalli, July 18 (UNI) The inflow into the Stanlay Reservoir at Mettur across river Cauvery has increased substantialy following the discharge of surplus water from Karnataka reservoirs.
The inflow into the dam was 58,873 cusecs this morning, against the inflow of 41,873 cusecs yesterday, PWD sources here said.
The level in the dam stood at 107.19 feet today while the discharge was maintained at 2000 cusecs.
The dam authorities were gearing up to lift the shutters this evening following the Tamil Nadu government's order to open the sluices of the reservoir.
