Govt for 'Jalanidhi' scheme with revised guidelines: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 (UNI) The Cabinet today decided to implement the second phase of the World-Bank funded Rs 1,200 crore ''Jalanidhi'' drinking water supply scheme with revised guidelines.
Speaking to newspersons after the Cabinet meeting, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said as per the revised guidelines, consumers contribution had been reduced to ten per cent from the earlier 15 per cent.
The project would be implemented in five years, he added.
Mr Achuthanandan said the World Bank would provide interest free loan, for which there would be repayment for the first ten years.
The loan amount should be repaid in next 25 years, he added.
