Govt enhances honorarium of Numbardars and Chowkidars in J and K

Srinagar, July 18 (UNI) Approving creation of eight Additional District Development Commissioners (ADDC) in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has decided to enhance honorarium of Numberdars and Chowkidars besides increasing stipend of interns of medical and dental colleges.

An official spokesman today giving details about the Cabinet meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, said it had approved creation of eight Additional District Development Commissioners for new districts.

The Cabinet also approved enhancement of honorarium of Numbardars from Rs 81 to Rs 501 and village Chowkidars from Rs 225 to Rs 500.

The enhancement would be effective from April 1, 2004.

It had also approved enhancement of stipend of interns of medical and dental colleges of Jammu and Srinagar from Rs 2400 to Rs 4800 with effect from October 1, 2006.

Cabinet also approved creation of two separate Directorates of Industries for Jammu and Kashmir divisions and the policy for rationalisation and regularisation of private B.Ed colleges.

It approved upgradation of posts of Section Officers from the existing scale of 6500-10500 to 7450-11500, he added.
