Farmers to stage dharna when CM visits KRS to offer pooja

Mysore, July 18 (UNI) Farmers under the umbrella of Karnataka Rajya Ryota Sangha would stage a dharna at K R Sagar reservoir on July 20 when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy offers pooja to river Cauvery, which has reached its brim following heavy rains in catchment Kodagu district.

Speaking to newspersons here K S Puttannaiah, President of KRRS said that the dharna was aimed at attracting government's attention on various demands of the farmers including a comprehensive package to distressed sugarcane growers, setting right irregularities in seed distribution and Mysore Urban Development Authority not allotting sites to farmers who lost their lands, he added.

The farmers martyrs day would be observed on July 21 at glass house in Hubli, he added.
