Drive to curb eve-teasing against foreigners

Varanasi, July 18 (UNI) As part of a special drive against eve teasers targetting girls and foreigners, the district police today arrested a youth for his alleged indecent act against two Korean tourists.

Ratan Pant was arrested from Vishwanath Gali area under Chowk police station for eve-teasing two young Korean students here.

A special drive has been started on the directive of Senior Police Superintendent S B Shirodkar to curb this menace, the official spokesperson at SSP office said.

The drive which had been launched from July one will be vigorously carried out across the city, especially near schools, colleges and temples, besides the Ganga Ghats, which are frequented by foreign tourists.

All police stations and outpost in-charges have been directed to keep round the clock check on eve-teasers.
