Corporator Dhonukshe's caste certificate declared invalid

Kolhapur, July 18 (UNI) The regional caste verification committee at Pune has declared the caste certificate produced by city corporator, Suresh Ganpati Dhonukshe, as invalid.

Mr Dhonukshe, while contesting the civic election from the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) ward number 39, had declared his caste as 'Kunbi', which falls under OBC category. But his claim was challenged by defeated candidate Raju Shingade, a former mayor.

After the verification, the verification committee on July 13 issued an order holding Mr Dhonukshe's caste certificate as invalid, a copy of which was circulated to press here today by Mr Shingade.
