CBSE withdraws recommendation to textbooks by pvt publishers

New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education today renewed its notification withdrawing recommendation for textbooks at the Secondary and Senior Secondary level by private publishers.

The Board has send a directive to this effect to all schools and stakeholders, a CBSE spokesperson said.

''It has been renewed as some publishers were found to be using the recommendation,'' she added.

CBSE will initiate legal action against publishers who claim to have the Board recommendation in any book being in circulation.

The text-books in different subjects include Economics for Classes 11 and 12 and Hindi edition of books.

The order has been effective since 2005-06 session.
