Bush, Karzai to review Afghan development work
Washington, July 18: Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai will visit US President George W Bush at Camp David on August 5 and 6, White House sources said yesterday.
The two leaders will review their work to enhance democracy, prosperity, and security in Afghanistan as agreed in the Joint Declaration of Strategic Partnership of May 23, 2005.
They will also discuss the progress in implementing Afghanistan's national development strategy and the steps to improve governance and fight corruption in the that country.
Besides, they are to review cooperation in the war on terror, support for Afghan counter-narcotics efforts, progress against militant extremists and cooperation with neighboring states, the sources added.
