Bhagamandala records heavy rainfall of 28 cm
Bangalore, July 18 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.
Very Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Bhagamandala 28, Sulya, Kollur, Talaguppa 13 each.
Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Linganamakki 12, Sringeri 11, Mani, Madikeri 9 each. Kammardi 8, Puttur, Siddapura, Agumbe 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Belthangadi, Dharmasthala, Koppa 6 each, Bantwal, Siddapura, Thirthahalli 5 each, Sagar, Hosanagar 4 each. Mangalore AP, Karkala, Savanur, Haveri, Kamalapur, Virajpet, Madapura, Jayapura 3 each, Mangalore, Mulki, Bhatkal, Shirali, Banavasi, Sirsi, Joida, Hangal, Haunsbhavi, Guttal, Ranebennur, Ron, Koppa, Aurad, Bhalki, Deodurg, Gulbarga, Kalgi, Shorapur, Somwarpet, Humchadakatte), Kalasa, N.R.Pura, Sakleshpura, Belur, Nanjangud, Malur 2 each.
Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin::Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu, Shimoga districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of the State.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi districts and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Fisheries warning: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.
Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and no significant change is expected over Interior Karnataka.
Local forecast:Generally cloudy with a spell of rain/showers.
