Army convoy attacked in north Kashmir
Baramulla, July 18 (UNI) An Army convoy was attacked by militants with automatic weapons at the main chowk, near here, in this north Kashmir town this afternoon.
Official sources said militants opened fire on Army vehicle, reportedly proceeding to Srinagar from Kupwara at the main chowk at 1245 hrs.
The Road Opening Party (ROP) and other security force personnel deployed in the area also retaliated and the firing was going on when reports last came in.
A large number of people, including a UNI correspondent, present in the area ran for safety.
Further details are awaited, the sources said.
