Amway India to be a Rs 1000 cr Company by FY '08

Hubli, July 18: Amway India, one of the largest FMCG companies, has set a target of becoming a Rs 1000-crore company by the end of this fiscal, Company's Corporate Communications Head Rajat Banerji said today.

Addressing a news conference here, he said the company had recorded a turnover of Rs 738 crore in 2006.

Mr Banerji, who launched the new product 'Persona 3-in-1 bar soap' with improved formulations, said the Indian market had responded very positively to the concept of Direct Selling. "The people have taken the independent business opportunity in a big way," he added.

He said, ''he launch of Persona 3-in-1 bar soap' is in line with companies overall business strategy. As part of this strategy, on one hand, Amway is bringing in its global brand in India. On the other hand Amway India is developing brands especially for the Indian market and Persona is one such brand.''
