Airtel launching its service in Lahaul Spiti

Shimla, Jul 18 (UNI) Airtel, Himachal Pradesh's leading mobile service provider, today announced the launching of its services in Keylong, district headquarters of tribal district of Lahual Spiti district of the state.

With this, Airtel's service was now available in all the districts of the state and adjoining villages of Keylong besides 57 towns and over 8,000 villages, Bharti's state Chief Operating Officer (COO) RVS Bhullar said in a release here.

He said to ensure a congestion-free network, the company has set up over 700 cell sites, which was largest number of cell sites by any operator in the state, which has the most inhospitable of terrains.

Airtel's services in the tribal district will also benefit tourists visiting the district, he said.

The telecom company with 40.74 million customers has been rated among the 10 best performing companies in the world in the Business Week IT 100 list.
