AIMIM holds up proceedings on newspaper issue

Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) Failing to extract a firm assurance from the Andhra Pradesh Government on violation of building rules by a 'Daily', the All India Majilis-E-Ittihadul Muslimeen today disrupted the proceedings for sometime.

Dissatisfied with Municipal Administration Minister K Ranga Rao's assurance to the House that he would ensure shifting of the printing press as early as possible, AIMIM Floor leader Akbaruddin Owaise expressed anguish and disrupted the proceedings for sometime, pressing a deadline for the eviction.

Assuring the agitated member that he would ask the officials concerned to expedite action against the Daily, Mr Rao said notice had already been issued by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

The Management of the daily had sought time, he said, adding that no deadline could be fixed, as the issue concerned media.

The Minister said misuse of parking space in cellar was detected in 645 buildings in the city and it was restored in 613 buildings, as 32 buildings were covered by court stay.
