AIIMS PMSF launches relay hunger strike
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Members of the AIIMS pro-reservation Progressive Medicos Scientists' Forum today launched a relay hunger strike to press for their demands, including annulling the existing selections process for the posts of senior residents.
Thirteen members started the strike after the group alleged that the AIIMS management was discriminating against the reserved category candidates in the selection process.
They are demanding that AIIMS Director P Venugopal meet their representatives, all candidates who have qualified the written tests for senior residents are given their posts as per their marks, making the selection process objective and ''false'' police cases against aggrieved doctors be withdrawn unconditionally.
PMSF representative Dr Kapil Yadav said the hunger strike was the only option as the issues raised by them were being completely ignored by the authorities.
