A portion of NSCBI airport's main runway peeled off

Kolkata, Jul 18 (UNI) A portion of the main runway near the threshold of the NSCBI airport was found peeled off this morning leading to delay in departure of two flights for about 20 minutes on an average.

Following the damage, the Air Traffic Control issued a NOTAM at 1130 hours and the main runway was closed for traffic.Flights were operated throughout the secondary runway.

Traffic resumed at 1425 hours after repair work was done, airport officials said.
