7 storey building collapses in Borivali
Mumbai, Jul 18 (UNI) At least a hundred people were feared trapped under the debris of a seven-storey building that collapsed at Borivali in north-west Mumbai today.
The 'Laxmi Chhaya' building, situated at Borivali west is a residential-cum-shopping complex, and has around 30-35 flats, police said.
The whole structure came down like a pack of cards at around 1915 hours this evening, police said.
According to people residing in the area, repair work was being carried out in the building for which no permission had been taken from the authorities.
Top Fire brigade and police officials were supervising the rescue operations.
According to fire brigade officials, 12 fire engines had reached the spot. The injured were rushed to nearby Bhagwati hospital.
