20 wounded in gas cylinder blast at Amarnath base camp
Srinagar, July 17 (UNI) At least twenty people including a yatri from Uttar Pradesh were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a shop at Baltal, the base camp for Amarnath pilgrimage.
Police said that the blast took place at 2100 hrs near the main gate of Baltal.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital. However, four critically injured were shifted to Srinagar.
Officials late tonight confirmed that the blast was caused due to the bursting of a gas cylinder in a shop.
They ruled out any sabotage or militant attack.
Other reports said 15 persons including a yatri, identified as Rajesh Sharma from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, five locals and 10 Tibetan traders were injured.
