15-member kick boxing team for Indoor Asian Games

Chandigarh, July 18 (UNI) The Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisations (IAKO) has selected a 15-member team which will take part in the second Indoor Asian Games being held at Macau from October 25.

Giving this information here today, IAKO selection committee chairman Gursharan Singh disclosed today that the team had been cleared by the Indian Olympic Association. The team was selected during selection trials held at Solapur.

The selected players will attend a coaching camp which will begin at Pune on August 15.

The team: Semi-Contact: Anchal Sharma (J-K), Sachin Chavan (Mah), Laxman Koli (Mah), Sanjay Katode (Mah), Satish Rajhans (Mah).

Coach: Pradyumna Behera.

Full Contact: Amir Khan (Manipur), Praveen Laxury (Assam Rifles), M Tomba Singh (Assam Rifles), Shyam Prasad (Kerala), Pardeep (Delhi).

Coach: Mohd Islamuddin.

Low Kick: Tarkesh Godbole (Mah), Subhachandra Singh (Assam Rifles), Pruna Chandra (Orissa), S Pajaniraja (Pondicherry), Pradeep Shinde (Mah). Coach: Montu Dass.

S S Harichandan has been appointed chief coach of the Indian team.
