1488 pilgrims leave for Amarnath today
Jammu, July 18 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1488 pilgrims today left here for the holy shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas, official sources said.
The convoy of 48 vehicles has departed from the base camp of MAM stadium for Nunwan (Pehalgam) and Baltal yatra camps at around 0515 hrs, they added.
The pilgrims left in a fleet of 48 vehicles, including 32 buses and 16 light motor vehicles, they said, adding the yatris, 1014 males, 206 females, 44 children and 144 sadhus, had reached Ramban by 11:15 hrs.
With today's batch, a total of 34,109 yatris have left for the shrine from Jammu city since the commencement of the yatra on July 2.
