Nagaland: Two die in road accident

Kohima, Jul 17: At least two persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident near Pfutsero in Phek district on July 15, a delayed official report here today.

The report said that the ill-fated eight-seatre vehicle, overloaded with 14 passengers, was proceeding towards Kohima from Pfutsero.

When it was near Ruzuba village, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled down into a deep gorge, killing the driver and a pastor on the spot while five others were seriously injured.

The injured had been rushed to Phek hospital, from where they were likely to be shifted to Kohima for further treatment, official sources added.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and investigation was on to ascertain the cause of accident.
