Tata Elxsi demonstrates mobile TV middleware
Bangalore, July 17 (UNI) Tata Elxsi, a specialist in building mobile TV solutions, has successfully demonstrated its capabilities at the first ever OMA BCAST v.1.0 standards interoerability test camp by the Broadcast Mobile Convergence Forum (Bmcoforum) held in Berlin recently.
Tata Elxsi successfully demonstrated it's middleware support for OMA BCAST service guide profile on the client end for various service guide server providers.
Bmcoforum organised the five-day intensive interoperability test camp, providing a platform and open environment for mobile TV solution providers such Tata Elxsi to test its mobile TV middleware products with various network operators and system integrators.
Mr Nitin Pai, Worldwide Head, Marketing, Product Design Solutions, Tata Elxsi said in a release here Tata Elxsi was among the few companies worldwide in the middleware component space of mobile TV.
''Our participation in such an influential event and the support extended for OMA BCAST by our mobile TV middleware, reflects our position as a key provider of mobile TV solutions,'' he said.
''Currently, mobile TV implementations and trials are ongoing in various countries such as Italy, United States, United Kingdom and other parts of Europe.
In India, Doordarshan has already launched mobile TV on the DVB-H platform. Our complete solution addresses DVB-H based services too, and has also undergone extensive field trials at multiple locations including Berlin, Spain and Paris'', he added.
