Staff Selection Commssion amendment bill passed in Assembly

Patna, July 17 (UNI) Bihar Staff Selection Commission(amendment) bill -2007 and Bihar Preliminary School Education Committee bill-2007 were passed by the state Assembly today.

The Bihar Preliminary School Education Committee bill sought 50 per cent reservation for women in primary school level.

Earlier, in a debate on Staff Selection Commission bill, state energy minister Bijendra Yadav said that the commission would appoint staff even on contractual basis against the existing vacancies. The process of regularisation of those appointed on contractual basis would also be initiated if required, he added.

He said the provision bill is to appoint government officer as the chairman of the state staff selection commission, who had completed 10 years of service in the Bihar government. The bill was passed by by 118 votes in favour to 45 votes against it.
