Sinicon, Pratley tie up for promoting "Pratliperl"

Chennai, July 17: Sinicon Controls of Age Group and Pratley Group of South Africa today announced their tie-up for promoting the revolutionary plastering material "Pratliperl" in India.

Apart from India, under the agreement, Sinicon would be selling 'Pratliperl' in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait, Sinicon Controls Managing Director V Revindran told newspersons here.

Introduction of this innovative and futuristic product by Sinicon would be in line with their tradition of introducing products with the 'first time' tag in its targeted markets, he added.

He said the venture would also enrich Pratley's experience in India and other SAARC countries and it would help to draw their long term plans.

'Pratliperl' is a heat proofing and climate control plastering and concrete aggregate, which will be used in plastering in place of sand.

"Pratliperl is derived out of a unique volcanic glass, a large deposit of which is found only in South Africa", he said adding each tough granule comprises a froth of glass-walled closed cells each enclosing a near vacuum.

The thermal conductivity such as 'K' value of Pratliperl was as low as 0.15 and hence Pratliperl plastered room would provide the inhabitant a very comfortable living. One could reduce the use of Air Conditioner and Room Heater or even it could be avoided, he said.

As product does not react to heat and fire, the building structure becomes fire resistant and safe since it had a melting point of 1,250 Deg C.
