Mizoram BJP for a makeover
Aizawl, July 17 (UNI) Mizoram unit of the BJP is maneuvering for a completely new image, according the party sources here.
After expelling the mercenary leaders, the party's top posts are now being taken over by new cadres.
Mr Khawvelthanga is the next president, while the new information and publicity secretary is Darshan Balwally, a veteran journalist, party members said.
''We are going to fight the next Assembly polls single-handedly.
We have developed two to three constituencies, where we will field our candidates. Our objective is to establish a clean government,'' Mr Balwally claimed.
Our workers are trying to change the general perception of the Mizos that the BJP was a Hindu party and project it as a secular party instead, he added.
He alleged that the previous BJP leaders in Mizoram had been accused of minting huge amount of money for their vested interests taking advantage of the BJP-led government at the Centre.
