Force 10 Network to increase R
Chennai, Jul 17 (UNI) Force10 Networks, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, today announced that it would continue to increase its infrastructure facilities in Chennai to support expanding product lines and a growing worldwide presence.
Talking to newspersons here, Company Vice President, Engineering, Sachi Sambandan, said additionally, Force10 would continue to increase its Research and Development(R&D) facilities to support a growing product line, including the recently launched C300 resilient switch.
Force10's R&D facility was in existence in Chennai for more than two years and is increasingly contributing to the success of the company's product portfolio worldwide, he said.
Mr Sambandan said with the strengthening the engineering team in Chennai, the company could go for a massive expansion and ensure the availability of C300 and new software features, among others, that would facilitate the customers to further leverage their networks as strategic assets.
He said by building an abstraction layer into the Force10 Operating System (FTOS) software that runs the 'TeraScale E-Series' family of switch/routers, the Chennai team could port it to C300.
As a result, the C300 could deliver the same reliable, robust performance that had been hardened in some of the world's most advanced networks, he added.
While explaining about the product, he said "the C300 combines software reliability, predictable performance, regardless of traffic conditions and visibility into traffic to ensure that network was flexible and application ready.
In addition to R&D activities, Force10 Chennai facilities also houses its growing Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) for the Asia Pacific region, he said.
TAC provides service and support to customers in India, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Singapore and provides first response support to the worldwide customer base outside US coverage times.
