Computers gutted in fire mishap in Secretariat

Bangalore, July 17 (UNI) Some electronic equipment, including a server, were gutted in a fire accident that occurred at Room No.

203-A on the second floor of the Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat, here today.

Making a statement on the mishap in the Karnataka Legislative Council, floor leader and Higher Education Minister D H Shankaramurthy said the accident was caused by a short circuit.

He said some electronic equipment, including a server, were damaged in the incident but none of the files kept inside the room was damaged. Fire tenders were summoned immediately after the incident and the fire was extinguished.

Earlier, Leader of the Opposition in the House H K Patil informed that fire was noticed in the second floor of the secretariat, where the Ministry of Finance was accommodated.
