AP CM orders DNA test on kidney donor

Hyderabad, July 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today sanctioned permission for conduct of DNA tests on a complaint from a kidney donor.

Following a request from the Society of Organ Transplantation and Indian Society of Nephrology, Dr Reddy ordered officials concerned to conduct DNA tests to ascertain if the kidney donated by one Ms Radhika had been preserved in the Osmania General Hospital and not sold as alleged by her.

Ms Radhika had earlier complained against the Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital that the kidney donated by her was not used during a transplantation surgery conducted on her father but it was sold to outsiders.
