Anganwadi workers continue stir
Puducherry, July 17 (UNI) The anganwadi workers here continued their agitation demanding the withdrawal of the Government Order transferring them enmasse.
The workers who were arrested yesterday and lodged in a 'Kalyanamandapam' here were released last evening. However, they refused to move out and stayed there till this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Welfare Minister M Kandasamy today held talks with eight legisaltors from the urban constituencies and it was reportedly decided to disburse the old age pension, widow pension and financial assistance to handicapped, through banks.
