Amarinder likely to meet Chahal
Patiala, July 17 (UNI) Former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh likely to meet his former media adviser B I S Chahal and former Congress MLA Jasbir Singh Dimpa in Patiala and Amritsar Jails respectively on July 20.
Capt Singh had returned home yesterday after over a month's stay in London, where he had gone for medical treatment.
Facing corruption charges in the Ludhiana City Centre scam, Capt Singh today spent the day at his residence in Moti Bagh Palace here.
The state Vigilance Bureau had questioned him last month in the corruption case and he is expected to be summoned again.
He is understood to have returned to cast his vote in the presidential election and is expected to return to London for further treatment, unless he is arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in some other case.
He was allowed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court to go abroad for medical treatment. The issue of blanket bail pending before Punjab and Haryana High Court has been adjourned to July 23.
Capt Singh will cast his vote for the presidential election on July 19 at Chandigarh.
Chahal has been behind bars in various cases of attempt to murder and fraud filed against him by the Punjab Police since the last one month. Dimpa the former MLA from Beas is facing a murder case.
Capt may also try to meet Joginder Pal Jain in Faridkot Jail who was arrested in 1988 COFEPOSA case yesterday.
Capt Singh's son and another relative have also been named accused in the City Centre scama and have also applied for blanket bail in the high court.
